Craft 1: Pumpkin Animals

Transform your pumpkin into a cat, spider, or a bat with the magic of crafting!

A photo showcasing 4 different toddlers working on their decorated animal pumpkins. One pumpkin is decorated to look like a cat, another to look like a bat, and two look like spiders.

Materials:

  • Pumpkin
  • Paint
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Colored Paper

Instructions:

  1. First, paint your pumpkin and let it dry.
  2. While the paint is drying, cut out pieces of the colored paper to form the face of your animal. For example, you could cut out ears and teeth for a cat or a bat.
  3. Once the paint is dry, glue on the googly eyes, paper cut outs, and pipe cleaners to form the animal. In the photo, you can see our students used pipe cleaners to form spider legs and cat whiskers.
  4. After the glue dries, you now have your very own pumpkin animal!

Craft 2: Pumpkin Mummy

This photo shows 3 toddlers each decorating a pumpkin mummy by wrapping a pumpkin in gauze and gluing googly eyes to it. There is a fourth image that depicts a table with many toddlers working on their pumpkin mummies.

Instructions:

  4. After the glue dries, you now have a mummified pumpkin!
